There are also a number of signposted routes here in the Machars.
However, if you are looking for exhilarating action, try one of the off-road trails or mountain bike centres. Two of the 7stanes Cycle routes Gentrool and Kirroughtree are nearby.Glentrool – huge, rolling hills, breath-taking scenery and awe-inspiring views make this a big day in the saddle. Over 45km, mostly on fire road and hill track, the Glentrool trail was opened in late 2004 and is already proving to be very popular.
Kirroughtree – The Highlands in miniature….single track twists tightly through the trees, over technical rocky sections and climbs, leading to the vast expanse of the largest rock trail feature in Britain. Visitwww.7stanes.gov.ukfor more information
